Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and is situated to the west of Scotland on the banks of the River Clyde. Glasgow is home to four universities, The University of Glasgow, Strathclyde University, Glasgow Caledonian University and The University of the West of Scotland, each institution offer a range of full time and part time courses to suit every students taste. One of the most sought after areas for students to reside in Glasgow is the West End. This area is perfect for students attending the University of Glasgow as the main campus is situated here and there are excellent transport links available allowing easy access to the city centre and around the rest of the city. The West End is home to a variety of trendy student bars, restaurants and pubs, many of which offering student discounts. As well as this, the area is also home to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.


Dennistoun is another popular option amongst the students of Glasgow, located to the east end of the city, on the north of the River Clyde. Its close proximity to the city centre make it a perfect option for students attending Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University. The area is served by two supermarkets, convenient for picking up everyday essentials, there is also a number of small specialist shops, pubs and take away restaurants nearby.

Cowcaddens is also a highly sought after area for students to rent a flat in Glasgow due to its prime location within Glasgow’s City Centre, providing easy access to Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow Metropolitan College. There are also excellent commuting services from this area via bus and subway, allowing students easy access to many of the city’s other educational institutions. Cowcaddens is perfect for those who crave the hustle and bustle of the busy city, with a range of fashionable bars, restaurants, clubs and music venues right on your doorstep. As well as this, if you locate in this area you are within easy reach of Glasgow’s vast array of shops and the world’s tallest 18 screen cinema. Buchanan Street Bus Station and Glasgow Queen Street and Glasgow Central Train Stations are also easily accessible from this area, allowing students to travel back and forth from university and home easily.
