Edinburgh is also famous for the spectacular festivals which it hosts annually, including the world famous Fringe Festival, attracting thousands of tourists around the world to the city every year. The international festival hosts a range of acts from all over the world performing comedy, drama, music and many more. As well as this, Edinburgh also regularly hosts a film festival, book festival and Hogmanay celebrations.

Edinburgh hosts a shopping experience second to none, whether you want to shop on Princes Street with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle across the street, or you would prefer one of Edinburgh’s many shopping centres and retail parks, the city has something to suit whatever your mood. From major high street stores, to smaller quirky boutiques there is something for everyone, and a fantastic variety of cafes and restaurants close by for a refreshment.


Edinburgh hosts the largest number of museums, art galleries, theatres and historic buildings than any other Scottish City.

With so much to offer, it is no wonder that Edinburgh is one of the most sought after cities to study. Whilst many universities and colleges offer student accommodation, there are also a range of affordable flats to rent in Edinburgh.
